Staff Data Engineer - Remote

Overview

Base is planning to bring a million developers and a billion users onchain. We need your help to make that happen. The data engineering team develops and maintains robust data pipelines, builds trusted data sources, and creates analytics/data products that inject automation into data science processes, with a goal to empower users via self-serve analytics.

• Build and maintain a foundational data layer (data marts) as the single source of truth.
• Design and implement robust data pipelines ensuring data quality and timely delivery.
• Build developer tools that enhance data science processes.

• Build tooling and pipelines for blockchain data transformation.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of blockchain data including blocks, transactions, and token transfers.
• Proficiency in Python; knowledge of Go is a plus.
• Expert SQL experience for data querying and transformation.
• Experience with data compute frameworks like Spark or Flink.
• Experience in designing and optimizing ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Familiarity with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Superset or Looker.
• Understanding of data modeling best practices.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Knowledge of fundamental DevOps practices including CI/CD.
