Overview

The Health Services Researcher is an integral part of the Evidence Synthesis Unit’s (ESU) research activities, collaboratively planning, executing, conducting and reporting novel research that supports Safe Medical Care in Canada.

In Short

  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to collect, synthesize, and interpret data.
  • Translate evidence as part of a team that generates and disseminates knowledge products.
  • Conduct data analysis and evidence synthesis using current methodologies.
  • Draft and execute research protocols in collaboration with team members.
  • Lead the preparation of manuscripts for peer review and conference submissions.
  • Provide support to project team members as necessary.
  • Ensure health evidence is produced with methodological rigour and relevance.
  • Engage in knowledge translation strategies.
  • Work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Contribute to project management documentation concerning studies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in health sciences, ideally Epidemiology, Public and/or Population Health.
  • Minimum of 8 years of clinical epidemiological and/or health services research experience.
  • Experience with systematic reviews and research surveys.
  • Experience writing scientific manuscripts and reports as a lead author.
  • Familiarity with Canadian health administrative databases is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong judgment, time management, and organizational skills.
