Overview

The Lead Bulk Power System Trainer position involves researching, designing, developing, and delivering training material to support market and reliability training for operators, ensuring compliance with NERC and WECC standards.

In Short

  • Leads and develops bulk power system training programs.
  • Creates and maintains training material focused on CAISO Operations.
  • Ensures compliance with NERC and WECC standards.
  • Delivers training and supports subject matter experts.
  • Monitors NERC Certification status and renewals.
  • Guides and mentors staff, setting work priorities.
  • May function as a Department Manager in the absence of the Manager.
  • Participates in department hiring activities.
  • Utilizes a Systematic Approach to Training (SAT).
  • Engages with customers to ensure training relevance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Six or more years of related experience.
  • NERC Certification required; NERC RC Certification desired.
  • Experience in curriculum development and training delivery.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle dynamic environments.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with the ADDIE process preferred.
