Overview

The Physical Therapist for Early Intervention provides strength-based, family-centered services for young children under three years of age who have developmental delays or are at risk of a developmental delay, enhancing their communication, physical, cognitive, social-emotional, and adaptive skills.

In Short

  • Provides direct intervention services to children 0 - 3 and their families.
  • Conducts evaluations and assessments.
  • Develops and implements Individual Family Service Plans.
  • Assists in transition planning prior to discharge from the program.
  • Maintains client records according to policies.
  • Evaluates and treats children with developmental deficits.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of typical infant/toddler development.
  • Develops functional intervention techniques for atypical development.
  • Requires a Physical Therapist license in Massachusetts.
  • May involve travel for in-person visits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Therapy.
  • Current Physical Therapist license in Massachusetts.
  • Satisfactory CORI review.
  • Valid US-issued driver's license and insured automobile.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (to be obtained within six months).
  • DPH’s CEIS Certification or eligibility.
  • NPI or application for NPI.
