Overview

The Patient Care Assistant II provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring patient comfort and safety in the Step Down Unit.

• Provides patient care and comfort under RN supervision.
• Communicates observations and changes in patient status to the RN.
• Assists patients with daily living activities.

• Takes and records vital signs and performs basic medical tasks.
• Assists with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Maintains accurate patient records and logs.
• Replenishes supplies and ensures unit cleanliness.
• Attends staff meetings and in-service programs.
• Demonstrates respect and professionalism in all interactions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CNA or EMT license preferred.
• Clinical experience or nursing student with clinical rotation required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Understanding of patient safety and care techniques.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
