Overview

The Patient Care Assistant I is responsible for providing essential patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients in the inpatient setting.

In Short

• Provide patient care activities to meet personal needs and comfort.
• Assist with daily living activities such as personal hygiene and meals.

• Participate in de-escalating situations and follow restraint policies as needed.
• Work mixed shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Must have Basic Life Support certification.
• High school education or GED required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary.
• Potential for a signing bonus based on eligibility.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support or Heart Saver certification.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and staff.
• Proven problem-solving abilities in routine situations.
• Clinical experience in a similar role preferred.
• Prior inpatient/outpatient care experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and computer skills is advantageous.
• Ability to remain calm under stress or in emergencies.
• Must be able to work 4 shifts monthly.
