The Patient Care Assistant I in the Inpatient Float Pool at UMass Memorial Health provides essential support to patients, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and safety under the guidance of Registered Nurses.

Requirements

• High school education or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support or Heart Saver certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly.
• Preferred experience in a clinical setting or with patient care.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within the healthcare team.
• Respectful communication with patients and families.
• Problem-solving abilities for routine situations.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English clearly.
