Senior Category Analyst - Remote

Overview

The Senior Category Analyst will champion the development and maintenance of the go-to-market analytics designed to support, track, and grow core and new product initiatives for all retailers and channels, acting as a leader by providing analytics and insights needed to optimize pricing, promotion, distribution, displays, and shelf placement.

• Fully remote or hybrid schedule (2-3 days in office if local to Chicago, IL).
• Salary range $70,000 - $80,000 depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.
• 5-10% travel to present to clients.
• Implement category management strategy for fact-based category reviews and business reviews.
• Present business reviews to clients, articulating trends and recommendations.
• Develop presentations on topline reporting, sales reviews, category reviews, and overall business trends.
• Work with Account Managers to manage KPIs and identify opportunities.
• Analyze data to provide insights on product, placement, pricing, and promotions.
• Develop tracking and monitoring reports for category leadership.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and communicate strategy internally and externally.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree plus 3-7 years CPG industry sales and category management experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; expert level Excel skills required.
• Experience with SPINS, Nielsen, and Circana data.
• Experience in category management and selling story development.
• Familiarity with data visualization platforms (e.g., Spotfire, PowerBI).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate complex concepts.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical thinker with a focus on execution.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals.
