Compliance Officer - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a hands-on and experienced Compliance officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s policies and activities comply with regulations and ethical standards. Your primary objective includes working with management and staff to identify regulatory risks and designing internal controls to ensure compliance within the organisation. You will work with stakeholders to identify and manage regulatory risk.

In Short

• Perform routine risk assessments to help the company’s understand compliance risk, scope and significance
• Monitor the organisation’s compliance with regulations and internal policies to ensure they are up to date with the relevant laws
• Oversee internal communication, providing support and establishing relationships with other teams like Product, Support, and HR.
• Conduct regular assessments to determine whether policies are compliant with the law.
• Manage client due diligence and client onboarding program, conducting KYC compliance for retail and corporate customers, conducting AML checks, intake controls, sanctions screening and counter-terrorism finance checks for customers.
• Improve our compliance processes by utilizing technology for KYB and KYC reviews, contract management, ongoing monitoring, transaction monitoring, financial crime investigations, fraud investigations, sanctions screening, and related purposes.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance plan and policies using international best practices, including regular review, and revamping of policies and procedures.
• Work closely with support and product to simplify the processes and onboard businesses.
• Conduct internal relevant investigations and risk assessments and manage law enforcement requests and data subject access requests.
• Educate employees on compliance regulations and the impact of non-compliance on the organisation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of proven work experience in compliance roles
• Strong understanding of business/economics and legal matters
• Experience obtaining licences.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations for legal business set-up
• Multi-jurisdictional experience
