Telecom Design Engineer - Remote

Overview

This position involves creating and modifying detailed drawings using CAD and QGIS tools, contributing to high-level designs, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards in telecom engineering.

• Design outside plant facilities including fiber optic and copper cables.
• Assist in planning and analysis for new construction or removal of facilities.
• Interact with local municipalities and engineers for records acquisition.
• Review site surveys and translate field notes into engineering drawings.
• Complete pole loading and bonding analysis for aerial facilities.
• Request and obtain necessary permits for construction.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication skills.

Requirements

• Proficient in AutoCAD, ARAMIS, GIS, O-Calc, and IQGeo.
• 2+ years of telecom design experience preferred.
• Understanding of outside plant telecom industry and utilities.
• Knowledge of encroachment permits and Traffic Control.
• Experience with GPON and Corning Flexnap products is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and perform desk work.
• Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
