Senior Backend Engineer / Architect - Remote

Bonrepublic was founded in 2020 and has already made this dream a reality for employees across Europe. To drive our dream further, we are looking for support for our team of 25 employees in our Vienna office.

In Short

• Develop and maintain SaaS backend using Python, Django, and FastAPI.
• Apply architectural best practices with Domain-Driven Design and microservices.
• Design event-driven systems with RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Optimize performance and improve query efficiency in PostgreSQL.
• Write clean, tested, and well-documented code.
• Collaborate in agile teams with product and frontend colleagues.
• Leverage modern tools to speed up development.
• Maintain quality standards through code reviews.

Requirements

• 10+ years in backend software engineering with strong expertise in Python/Django.
• Solid understanding of Domain-Driven Design and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Proven track record in building RESTful APIs.
• Strong PostgreSQL skills from schema design to performance tuning.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage.
• Comfortable working in agile teams with excellent communication skills.
• Open to adopting new tools and approaches.
