Head of Accounting and Controlling - Remote

Overview

As the Head of Accounting & Controlling at Bloq.it, you will lead a capable team in managing accounting and controlling activities across multiple entities, ensuring compliance and delivering timely financial insights.

In Short

• Oversee accounting records, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Ensure revenue and cost recognition according to accounting standards.
• Manage the full payroll cycle and accounting on a group level.
• Lead monthly close processes for Portuguese and EU entities.
• Deliver management reports including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
• Monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide recommendations.
• Oversee indirect tax compliance and coordinate with external advisors.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and audit readiness.
• Lead ERP management and drive process improvements.

Requirements

• 6-8 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, or Controlling.
• Strong understanding of Portuguese GAAP and IFRS principles.
• Experience in month-end close and reporting.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and BI tools.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
• Excellent communication skills in English, Portuguese preferred.
