Senior Software Engineer, Mission Planning - Remote

Overview

BlackSky is looking for a strong, self-starting and eager engineer to join our Mission Planning Engineering team, developing and maintaining optimal, automated operations for the BlackSky constellation.

In Short

• Contribute to mission planning integrated product team.
• Model, implement, and test concepts of operation for autonomous planning.
• Develop production-level software in Go.
• Support ongoing constellation operations.
• Translate product concepts to engineering requirements.
• Occasional 24/7 support during critical operations.
• Independently design and implement software improvements.
• Collaborate with various engineering teams.
• Drive technical implementation for mission planning products.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or related field.
• At least eight years of relevant software development experience.
• Familiarity with satellite first principles.
• Experience writing technical requirements.
• Expert proficiency in compiled multi-threaded programming languages.
• Working knowledge of Go.
• Expert knowledge of software design and implementation.
• Strong problem-solving initiative.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be a US citizen.
