QA / Systems Analyst – Mainframe Modernization (Fully Remote)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced QA / Systems Analyst to join our team in a mainframe modernization project. The role involves modernizing legacy systems built with COBOL and ALC, integrating with Java and C++ components, while ensuring robust quality assurance processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in testing tools, and experience in mainframe environments. This position is fully remote and offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team modernizing mission-critical systems.

In Short

• Analyze existing mainframe systems and modernized components for functionality, performance, and integration issues.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies and test cases covering functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Use Selenium to automate functional and regression testing.
• Utilize JIRA for defect tracking, reporting, and test case management.
• Perform performance testing using LoadRunner to ensure system scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate with development teams to identify, document, and prioritize defects.
• Create and maintain detailed QA documentation, including test plans and defect logs.
• Work closely with business analysts, developers, and project managers.
• Provide insights into QA processes and best practices.
• 5+ years of experience in QA/System Analysis roles.

Requirements

• Experience working on mainframe modernization projects with COBOL and ALC environments.
• Familiarity with Java and C++ code structures.
• Proficiency with testing tools such as Selenium, JIRA, and LoadRunner.
• Strong understanding of legacy mainframe systems.
• Hands-on experience in creating and executing automated test scripts.
• Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
• Experience with additional mainframe languages or modernization tools is a plus.
