DBA Analyst – Mainframe Modernization - Remote

Overview

An experienced DBA Analyst is needed to support a mainframe modernization project by managing, modernizing, and migrating databases from hierarchical to relational systems.

• Lead efforts in migrating legacy hierarchical databases to relational databases.
• Perform data mapping, transformation, and migration to ensure data integrity.
• Install, configure, monitor, and maintain relational databases.
• Develop and optimize stored procedures, queries, and database functions.
• Analyze existing database schemas and provide solutions for migration.
• Perform performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with development teams on applications interacting with databases.
• Document database designs and migration strategies.
• Ensure smooth integration between modernized databases and application layers.
• Assist in transitioning legacy systems into scalable database solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or Database Analyst.
• Experience migrating hierarchical databases to relational databases.
• Proficiency in developing and optimizing stored procedures.
• Understanding of legacy mainframe environments with databases.
• Familiarity with database design for Java and C++ applications.
• Strong experience with Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, and CICS databases.
• Proficiency in SQL scripting and performance optimization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
