• Bionews is looking for a full-time science editor to join our Science team.
• Seeking individuals with a PhD in life sciences to edit news articles and informational pages.
• Experience in health and medical content editing for a lay audience is preferred.
• Involvement in reporting on research, drug development, and clinical trials.
• Work closely with writers and editors to ensure content accuracy and clarity.
• Manage editorial projects and daily tasks effectively.
• Train and mentor science writers.
• Plan coverage of scientific conferences and special projects.
• Outreach to external entities for story development.
• Full-time remote position, U.S. candidates preferred.

Requirements

• PhD in a life science discipline.
• Experience in health/medical editing for a lay audience.
• Proficient in conducting independent research.
• Editorial leadership or management experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices.
• Native or near-native fluency in American English.
