Technical Writer - Remote

Overview

As a technical writer on our Frontier Markets team, you will work closely with product managers and engineering to understand the roadmap and identify how best to promote customer knowledge of our innovative products and services. You will write swiftly, cleanly, and confidently while remaining open and responsive to feedback.

In Short

• Write and update release notes, end-user, administrator, and developer documentation for Axon products.
• Collaborate with various teams such as product management, design, engineering, customer support, training, marketing, account management, and sales.
• Perform content analysis and develop documentation plans for new features and products.
• Evangelize best practices for technical communications within the organization.
• Partner with the training team to promote content reuse and efficient content and learning plans.
• Work in a CMS to create, review, and deliver our content to multiple platforms.
• 3+ years experience in a technical writing role.
• Experience producing user documentation including installation guides, configuration guides, and online help.
• Familiarity with documenting web, desktop, and mobile software products.
• Experience with agile software development projects.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to write for diverse audiences, including non-technical end users, IT experts, and business decision-makers.
• Robust working knowledge and application of style guides and industry practices.
• Experience with law enforcement agencies, criminal justice, or other public safety organizations is a plus.
• Experience with cloud computing, networking, and related computer hardware is a plus.
• Experience writing and reviewing UX copy is a plus.
• Experience with MadCap Central is a plus.
