AvidXchange is a dynamic and innovative technology-driven B2B payments organization seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Application Security Engineer to join our team. As an Application Engineer embedded within our Agile development teams, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our applications, systems, and data. While working closely with cross-functional Agile teams, you will report directly to the Information Security Application Security Team to act as a liaison and subject matter expert aligning efforts across the broader security strategy.

In Short

• Design, evaluate, and implement security controls within the company’s cloud infrastructure.
• Review architectures, develop standards, and participate in design sessions for cloud products.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and manage cloud security risks.
• Collaborate with technology teams to identify and remediate security issues.
• Provide guidance on security strategies and technologies.
• Participate in incident response and disaster recovery planning.
• Guide product and technology teams on cloud security best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud security, networking, and system administration.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container security.
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools and serverless architectures.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience with cloud-native security tools such as AWS GuardDuty and Azure Security Center.
• Strong problem-solving skills and technical aptitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Flexibility to adapt to evolving security threats.
• Capability to lead and mentor junior team members.
