Senior Software Engineer – Applications/Platform - Remote

In Short

• Develop and maintain interfaces for running customer-provided jobs on quantum hardware and simulators.
• Develop and maintain services and infrastructure for automating system tuning and calibration.
• Develop and maintain software for scheduling execution and analyzing results of quantum algorithms.
• Mentor Quantum Engineers to write idiomatic, well-tested, well-documented, and extensible code.
• Work with a talented team of engineers and physicists.
• Report to the Software Engineering Manager.
• Collaborate in a fast-growing, early-stage startup environment.
• Engage with complex computer systems and architecture-level features.
• Willingness to learn atomic, optical, laser physics, and quantum mechanics.
• Experience with cloud services and web application design is a plus.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a software engineer.
• Proficiency with Python and SQL.
• Experience with C++ or Rust preferred.
• Familiarity with Git and software development best practices.
• Self-motivated and collaborative with a high tolerance for ambiguity.
• Excited to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Background in physics is welcome but not required.
