Overview

The Senior Wide Area Network (WAN) Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing WAN solutions for a US Government Program, ensuring reliable connectivity and network security.

In Short

  • Design, implement, and optimize WAN solutions.
  • Configure and manage WAN devices like routers and firewalls.
  • Monitor WAN performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Implement network security measures including VPNs.
  • Analyze network traffic for performance optimization.
  • Document WAN infrastructure and generate performance reports.
  • Collaborate with IT teams for seamless network integration.
  • Plan and execute network upgrades and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with vendors for network services.
  • Develop disaster recovery plans for network resiliency.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in network administration focusing on WAN technologies.
  • Certifications such as CCNP or CCIE.
  • Proficiency in WAN technologies including MPLS and SD-WAN.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with US STRATCOM and Air Force Network Operations is a plus.
