Overview

The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining servers and related systems to support the computing environment, with a focus on optimizing campus-wide Wi-Fi networks.

In Short

  • Monitor and optimize Wi-Fi networks including controllers and access points.
  • Perform assessments of wireless coverage and signal strength.
  • Configure and manage Wi-Fi access policies and VLANs.
  • Collaborate with network engineers for infrastructure integration.
  • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity and performance issues.
  • Support onboarding of devices on wireless networks.
  • Document network changes and configurations.
  • Stay updated with best practices in wireless networking.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for networking-related requests.
  • Assist with firmware updates and security patches.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Wi-Fi/network administration.
  • Strong knowledge of 802.11 wireless protocols and network monitoring tools.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and firewalls.
  • Experience with NAC systems and authentication services.
  • Ability to analyze wireless logs and user metrics.
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation tools is a plus.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Desired: Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field.
  • Experience with scripting and automation in server environments.
