Staff Accountant - Remote

We provide APIs and automation tools that enable businesses to move money programmatically while maintaining strict regulatory requirements.

We’re looking for a compliance professional who thrives in a regulated fintech environment. You’ll work directly with customers and internal teams to support audits, validate compliance processes, and ensure KYC/AML frameworks are implemented effectively. Your work will help Astra uphold trust, meet regulatory standards, and enable customer growth.

In Short

• Manage billing cycles and ensure accurate, timely invoicing.
• Oversee accounts payable and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Monitor bank accounts, reconciliations, and day-to-day treasury functions.
• Maintain accurate day-to-day records of all financial transactions.
• Lead the preparation and accuracy of monthly financial closes.
• Partner with external tax accountants on annual returns and filings.
• Prepare financial materials and data packages for investors and board presentations.
• Identify gaps and implement scalable procedures to support rapid growth.
• Prep and management of annual tax obligations and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or on track is a plus).
• 2–4+ years of accounting experience, ideally at a fast-growing tech company or public accounting firm.
• Strong grasp of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting systems.
• Comfortable rolling up your sleeves, solving problems, and creating clarity in a fast-moving environment.
• Organized and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple customer evaluations simultaneously.
