Overview

The Association of Washington Cities (AWC) is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Employee Benefits Specialist to support the administration of the contracted Employee Benefit Trust.

In Short

  • Handle member and service provider inquiries by phone and email.
  • Maintain and enter data, reconcile discrepancies.
  • Coordinate closely with carrier representatives, employers, and billing administrator.
  • Respond to member inquiries regarding eligibility, claims, appeals, and benefit-related issues.
  • Provide education and guidance to COBRA and retiree participants.
  • Review and audit enrollment forms for compliance.
  • Assist with vendor management of the online billing system.
  • Build and maintain relationships with carrier partners.
  • Assist in writing and proofreading program communications.
  • Staff various events of the organization as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in the health care field.
  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • HIPAA privacy training preferred.
