Overview

As the Hardware Product Manager, you will be responsible for driving the development of hardware products for our condition monitoring platform, including managing the product development lifecycle from concept to release, working with cross-functional teams, and collaborating with customers and partners.

In Short

  • Manage the product development lifecycle for hardware products, including concept, design, development, testing, and release.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware components.
  • Define and manage product requirements, including feature sets, performance criteria, and technical specifications.
  • Work with hardware engineering teams to ensure designs are feasible, manufacturable, and meet cost targets.
  • Define and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Collaborate with customers and partners to understand their needs and requirements, and ensure products are designed to meet those needs.
  • Define and execute go-to-market strategies for hardware products, including pricing, positioning, and sales enablement.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to inform product development and go-to-market strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze product health and trends to inform future product development and reporting to other teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware product management, preferably in an IoT or industrial monitoring environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of hardware design and development, including knowledge of electronics, embedded systems, and sensors.
  • Experience with Internet of Things (IoT) devices/products preferred.
  • Experience with industry-specific compliance requirements related to condition monitoring, such as safety regulations and environmental standards such as Hazardous Locations (HazLoc) is preferred.
  • Experience identifying key sensor health metrics and collaborating with the engineering team on data structures and BI dashboards.
  • Experience identifying and improving product team metrics, KPIs, and benchmarking in the spirit of increasing time-to-market and development cycles.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with customers and partners.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with product testing and validation, including conducting and documenting tests to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks such as ISO, UL, FCC, and CE marking requirements is a plus.
  • Experience navigating regulatory compliance processes and obtaining necessary certifications for hardware products is a plus.
