Overview

As Legal Counsel - US, you will be Aspora’s primary legal owner for our US business across money transmission, cross-border remittance, and payments products, translating complex US laws and regulations into clear, practical guidance.

In Short

• Serve as primary US legal counsel for Aspora’s US money transmission, remittance, and payments offerings.
• Advise on state money transmitter licensing and product structures.
• Interpret and advise on US federal and state laws affecting our business.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Maintain customer-facing legal content for the US.
• Support interactions with US regulators and external counsel.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting remittances and payments.
• Handle multi-jurisdictional legal matters.
• Build scalable templates and guidance for non-legal teams.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited US law school and active membership in at least one US state bar.
• 3 – 5 years of post-qualification experience in financial services or fintech.
• Strong knowledge of US money transmission and payments law.
• Track record of partnering with product and compliance teams.
• Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills.
• Risk-based mindset for pragmatic solutions.
• Comfortable in a fast-moving environment.
• Excellent communicator who simplifies complex legal concepts.
