Overview

The Lead Cloud Economist at Arctic Wolf will contribute to the Financial Operations department by supporting initiatives that deliver cost visibility, governance, and insights into the operation of globally scaled systems, processing hundreds of billions of events daily.

• Conduct in-depth analyses of cloud spend to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop predictive financial models for cloud spend based on usage trends.
• Utilize tools like AWS QuickSight and Cost Explorer for spend analysis.
• Collaborate with R&D and finance teams to align cloud cost initiatives.
• Manage cost anomaly detection and response processes.
• Partner with finance for cost forecasting and projections.
• Oversee commitment-based discounts and optimize renewals.
• Audit and enforce cloud cost governance policies.
• Iterate on cost management processes and implement new tools.
• Maintain the cloud cost reporting platform.

Requirements

• Fluent in data, finance, and technology.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis tools.
• Experience with BI tools like QuickSight, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Practical knowledge of AWS products and cost management.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
• Experience in cloud expense reporting using FinOps disciplines.
• Working knowledge of Python and SQL preferred.
• Bonus: Experience with cloud infrastructure capacity planning.
