Catastrophe Modeling Analyst - Remote

Overview

The primary purpose of the role is to work within the Modelling Team to model D&F Risk, execute ad hoc projects, to understand and use current in-house tools, and to report global exposures across all lines of business to the Underwriters and facilitate technical pricing and loss estimation.

In Short

• Process and analyse natural catastrophe risk information.
• Carry out risk analysis of submissions including data quality analysis.
• Work closely with underwriters to provide findings from output.
• Add value to the underwriting process by providing insights into modelled output.
• Maintain complete information in the internal system.
• Support the design and testing of new tools.
• Assist in shaping analytical capabilities using in-house software.
• Use SQL queries to retrieve and update modelling information.
• Handle any other duties as required.

Requirements

• Educated to A Level.
• Some knowledge of Microsoft Excel; Access, SQL, and VBA are advantageous.
• Interest in the insurance market or exposure management.
• Excellent analytical and attention to detail skills.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Able to work independently in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to build effective relationships and meet tight deadlines.
• BS in Geo Science, Meteorological Engineering, or related discipline.
