Catastrophe Modeling Analyst - Remote

Overview

The catastrophe modeling analyst is responsible for collection, organization, scrubbing, interpretation, analysis, documentation and dissemination of cat modeling exposure and results.

In Short

• Interpret data, analyze results and provide ongoing reports
• Develop and implement data cleansing techniques and strategies that optimize workflow efficiency and data quality
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
• Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in exposure and loss data sets
• Filter and scrub data, evaluate for performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Requirements

• BS in Geo Science, Meteorological Engineering, or related discipline
• Technical expertise in programming background and database management exposure
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel & Access)
• Knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, etc.) and databases (SQL, etc.)
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
• Previous catastrophe modeling exposure desired (RMS, AIR)
