Overhead Line Design Engineer - Remote

Overview

We are seeking high calibre Overhead Line design staff to expand our established electrical transmission & distribution and generation businesses. This role involves performing detailed design or consultancy across the life cycle of an OHL system from concept to end of life.

In Short

• Create detailed design deliverables for packages of work
• Create technical specifications for designs and contractual documentation
• Undertake design analysis and review the work of others
• Resolve technical problems and provide solutions
• Manage deliverables to timescales and budgets
• Develop personal and company profiles within the client base
• Demonstrate advanced contractual awareness
• Manage a multidisciplinary team
• Support project delivery teams from a technical perspective
• Lead design innovations that deliver value for company and clients

Requirements

• Proven experience of OHL system development and design
• Expert knowledge in the use of CAD packages such as PLS-CADD
• Proven track record in UK HSE legislation and Risk management
• Significant experience within the electricity industry
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Hold and maintain chartered engineer status
• Hold and maintain corporate membership of a leading UK engineering institution
