Technical Business Analyst - Remote

Overview

Analytica is seeking a Technical Business Analyst that will serve as the crucial link between clinical/operational stakeholders and the technical development team within the Defense Health Agency. This role involves translating complex healthcare and business needs into detailed technical requirements, specifically focusing on data management, ETL processes, SQL farm development, and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will ensure data integrity and compliance with all federal and DoD healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

• Requirements Management: Elicit, analyze, and document complex business and technical requirements from various stakeholders to support data integration and reporting initiatives.
• ETL Operations Support: Collaborate with data engineering teams to define, test, and validate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes from disparate sources into the enterprise data warehouse.
• Data Modeling and Database Design: Support the design of data models and database structures to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
• SQL Development Support: Assist in the creation, maintenance, and optimization of SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts used for data analysis and reporting.
• Data Flow and Process Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed documentation for data processes.
• Reporting and Visualization: Define specifications for reports and dashboards and collaborate with development teams to create visualizations.
• Data Quality and Governance: Perform data profiling, quality checks, and gap analysis to ensure data integrity.
• Testing and Validation: Create test plans and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) using SQL scripts.
• Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate meetings and ensure alignment between technical teams and non-technical personnel.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Business, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Experience: Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a healthcare or defense environment.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
• Experience with ETL frameworks and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
• Understanding of relational database management system (RDBMS) concepts.
• Domain Knowledge: Knowledge of healthcare operations and data privacy laws (HIPAA).
• Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance; Active Secret Clearance preferred.
