This role will require infrequent travel to our site in Belfast with the majority of work being carried out on a remote basis.

In Short

• Design, develop, and optimize firmware solutions for embedded systems.
• Work on bare metal programming and implement robust software for STM32 microcontrollers in Embedded C/C++.
• Integrate hardware, software, and firmware, ensuring seamless system functionality for defence-grade applications.
• Develop and validate firmware for NAND Flash memory and other hardware components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and manage system and hardware requirements.
• Conduct testing, debugging, and performance optimization to ensure compliance with defence standards and regulations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in firmware or embedded systems development, preferably in defence or aerospace sectors.
• Strong expertise in Embedded C/C++ programming, bare metal development, and STM32 microcontrollers.
• Experience with NAND Flash, PCB design, and hardware-software integration.
• Familiarity with electronic warfare systems and defence-related engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain SC Clearance is mandatory.
• Ability to travel infrequently, paid by Alten, to our site in Belfast.
