Radiation Physicist Engineer - Nuclear - Remote

Overview

As a Radiation Physicist Engineer, you will join the Derby team to support our activities within the Nuclear sector, applying advanced nuclear physics knowledge in a high-impact, regulated environment.

In Short

• Modelling and simulating radiation transport using industry-recognised tools.
• Supporting the design of radiation shielding and protection systems for nuclear facilities.
• Conducting dose rate calculations, activation analyses, and radiological assessments.
• Interpreting and applying nuclear safety standards and radiation protection regulations.
• Collaborating with engineers and safety teams to ensure compliance throughout the lifecycle of the project.
• Preparing technical documentation and presenting analysis results to internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Solid foundation in nuclear or radiation physics.
• Experience in radiation shielding, protection, or transport modelling.
• Hands-on experience with Monte Carlo simulation codes – ideally MCNP.
• Exposure to Attila4MC or similar deterministic transport software (a bonus).
• Familiarity with nuclear regulatory requirements and radiological safety standards.
• Strong communication skills and ability to document technical findings clearly.
