Senior Technical Assistance Specialist - Remote

Overview

Altarum’s Community Health Practice Area is seeking a Senior Technical Assistance (TA) Specialist with behavioral health (BH) expertise to support multiple projects focused on substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and peer recovery support services.

In Short

• Lead the provision of training and TA to SUD treatment and recovery service providers across Michigan, both virtually and on-site as needed.
• Provide input to inform decisions regarding TA requests and processes.
• Assess, plan, and provide training and TA related to evidence-based practices.
• Design and deliver training and TA on peer recovery support services.
• Provide consultative expertise and recommendations to clients and grantees.
• Lead the development of TA packages, reports, and online learning courses.
• Recruit and collaborate with expert consultants for training and TA.
• Work collaboratively with other Altarum staff and external TA providers.
• Ensure tasks are executed successfully and with high-quality.
• Contribute to federal, state, and philanthropic proposal efforts.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work, public health, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience with SUD and peer recovery support services.
• 15% travel throughout Michigan and/or 8-10% to other states.
• Experience providing TA on State contracts or with community organizations.
• Experience in quality improvement processes.
• Experience in developing TA protocols and resources.
• Experience in meeting and training design.
• Desire to integrate research and consulting skills for public health improvement.
• Excellent critical thinking and communication skills.
• Knowledge in SUD treatment and organizational collaboration.
