Overview

The Events Manager will play a crucial role in planning and implementing events for the Alliance for Safety and Justice, focusing on national convenings and stakeholder meetings.

In Short

  • Manage ASJ’s events calendar and support event protocols.
  • Coordinate logistics for various events including town halls and conferences.
  • Work closely with the Events Director and Operations division.
  • Assist in budget preparation and track event finances.
  • Ensure effective communication and documentation for all events.
  • Collaborate with vendors to meet event needs.
  • Maintain planning documents and timelines for events.
  • Support the development of event marketing and graphic design needs.
  • Utilize project management systems to align with organizational procedures.
  • Engage in problem-solving and critical thinking throughout the event planning process.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of event management experience, preferably in a national organization.
  • Experience in nonprofit advocacy or campaign organizations.
  • Strong project management skills; certification is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects.
  • Attention to detail and results-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in budget management and administration.
  • Capacity to adapt event plans as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience with diverse teams.
  • Problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
