In Short

• Develop new approaches to improve state-of-the-art model architectures and applications.
• Research environment with sufficient compute and an industrial professional supervisor.
• Align research interests with team’s mission and mid-term goals.
• Contribute to foundational models, AI agents, or explainability teams.
• Research and development of novel approaches and algorithms.
• Analysis and benchmarking of state-of-the-art approaches.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers at Aleph Alpha.
• Publish work on machine learning venues.
• Engage with GenAI PhD students and foster exchange with your university.
• Available for 5–6 months.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a GenAI-related PhD Program, ideally at least in 3rd year.
• Solid understanding of DL/ML techniques, algorithms, and tools.
• Experience with Python and at least one deep-learning framework, preferably PyTorch.
• Ready to relocate to Heidelberg, Germany.
• Interest in bridging practical industry challenges and academic research.
