Overview

The Course Evaluator ensures the success of participants in the New Leaders Aspiring Teachers Accelerator program. In this role, you will provide competency-based evaluation support for specific courses, assisting adult participants in demonstrating proficiency in programmatic and course-specific competencies through assessment feedback reports. The Course Evaluator reports to the Executive Director, Product Management & Content Development.

In Short

  • Apply subject matter expertise and experience using a rubric to rate participant performance.
  • Provide comprehensive, personalized written feedback to participants on their performance tasks.
  • Commit to and ensure timely evaluation as defined by New Leaders.
  • Propose and collaborate on new methods and procedures for assessment evaluation.
  • Provide support to Course Instructor or Program Mentor to resolve student concerns.
  • Enter ratings and feedback in Learning Management System.
  • Ensure written feedback is actionable, strengths-based, and aligned to specific performance indicators.
  • Identify and elevate students who need additional support.
  • Participate in norming sessions and calibration exercises.
  • Engage in ongoing training to maintain fidelity in rubric application.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of K-12 classroom teaching experience required.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Passionate belief in academic excellence for every student.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong active listening skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Experience teaching online is preferred.
  • Track record of success implementing adult learning principles is preferred.
