Technical Writer/Communications Lead - Remote

Overview

AIS is looking for a Technical Writer/Communications Lead to develop and manage high-impact communication materials for the Manufacturing Energy Efficiency Research & Analysis (MEERA) Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. This role will contribute to the dissemination of energy efficiency resources through various technical assistance and training events worldwide.

In Short

• Develop, write, and edit technical content including fact sheets and case studies.
• Collaborate with engineers and program managers to capture key insights.
• Support layout and formatting of reports to ensure visual consistency.
• Maintain editorial and branding standards across materials.
• Assist with tracking and updating technical resource libraries.
• Coordinate internal reviews and approval processes.
• Support content development for newsletters and presentations.
• Work with the data team to present findings in a clear narrative format.
• Provide communication support for events and training initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, Technical Writing, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in technical writing or science communication.
• Strong command of English grammar and clarity in writing.
• Proven ability to synthesize and present technical concepts.
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with Adobe tools is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Experience interpreting and analyzing data from multiple sources.
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects.
