Lead Security Architect - Remote

Overview

Aker Systems is seeking a Lead Security Architect to provide expert security, risk management, and compliance guidance for cloud-centric data and digital services, particularly within highly regulated industries such as UK Government and Defence.

In Short

• Lead security and assurance for complex cloud services.
• Provide advice on HMG government security architecture.
• Define and lead external security testing.
• Establish security requirements for cloud solutions.
• Identify and deliver appropriate security controls.
• Evaluate new threats in the cloud.
• Develop and maintain customer security architecture.
• Ensure proper execution of architecture principles.
• Collaborate with delivery teams and customers.
• Support SC clearance application for eligible candidates.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience in security architecture.
• Expertise in public cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with security standards (ISO 27k, NIST800-53).
• Ability to lead security testing and assessments.
• Strong communication skills with stakeholders.
• Experience in DevOps and CI/CD environments.
• Understanding of risk-based decision-making.
• Ability to translate security concepts for technical teams.
• British Citizenship or Dual Citizenship required.
• SC clearance or willingness to apply.
