Affirm is looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to take on a key role in defining the technical direction and foster innovation across the engineering organization.

In Short

Design, implement, and extend core platform services and APIs.
Architect and build the next version of our data-processing pipeline.
Create 3rd party developer APIs and tools.
Analyze/debug performance issues across distributed services.
Plan, design, and build core platform software and systems.
Collaborate with product managers and designers.
Focus on user experience details.
Build real-time distributed web services.
Implement highly available data storage.
Drive successful delivery of critical initiatives.

Requirements

Solid CS fundamentals and fluency in a dynamically typed language, primarily Python.
Experience in building large-scale distributed systems.
Strong cross-functional communication skills.

Background in web application frameworks.
Experience with data integration and machine learning models.
