Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Tax Preparer / Secretary to support a U.S.-based accounting firm remotely, focusing on tax preparation tasks and administrative responsibilities.

In Short

• Assist with preparation and organization of U.S. tax documentation
• Perform general administrative tasks, including data entry and file management
• Use Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Online to manage and organize financial data
• Communicate effectively with U.S.-based staff and clients
• Support ad hoc accounting and secretarial tasks as assigned
• Work remotely from South Africa with flexible hours
• Part-time role with 20-25 hours per week

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time across different time zones
• Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace
• Experience with U.S. tax preparation is a plus
• Background in accounting, finance, or administration preferred
• Prior remote work experience is advantageous
