Senior Manager, Grants and Contracts - Remote

Overview

Advocates For Children (AFC) is a dynamic social justice organization that strives to ensure a high-quality education for New York students who face barriers to academic success, focusing on students from low-income backgrounds. AFC works on behalf of children and youth who are at greatest risk of academic failure due to poverty, race, ethnicity, disability, homelessness, immigration status/limited English proficiency, or involvement in the child welfare or juvenile/criminal legal systems. We use uniquely integrated strategies to advance systemic reform, empower families and communities, and advocate for the educational rights of individual students.

In Short

• Full-time Senior Manager, Grants and Contracts position.
• Responsible for managing AFC’s institutional funders portfolio.
• Draft proposals and reports for government grants and foundations.
• Identify potential funding opportunities.
• Collaborate with the development team to respond to RFPs.
• Utilize DonorPerfect and Salesforce for grant management.
• Maintain a library of grant support documents.
• Work with Finance/Operations for financial reporting.
• Assist with other aspects of development as needed.
• Expected to work at least 2 days a week in the office.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 8+ years of professional, institutional fundraising experience.
• Experience with government and foundation grants.
• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage a portfolio of funders.
• Technologically savvy with proficiency in donor CRMs.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain timelines.
• Experience researching funding opportunities.
• Initiative and independence, with teamwork ability.
