The Documentation Specialist at AdaptHealth is responsible for creating and managing patient documentation, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and maintaining a timely revenue cycle for services provided.

In Short

  • Create electronic forms for patient documents.
  • Manage patient eligibility documents and prescriptions.
  • Contact healthcare providers and insurance companies for documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide backup support to Customer Service.
  • Analyze documentation for billing compliance.
  • Maintain physician databases for accurate billing documentation.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in healthcare administration or customer service.
  • Two years of experience for senior-level positions.
  • Experience in Medicare certified environments is preferred.
