Director of Foundation and Major Gifts - Remote

Overview

Acadia Center is seeking an experienced professional to strengthen its philanthropic efforts across the organization, collaborating with program and communications staff to inspire and secure foundation support and major gifts for priority programs.

In Short

• Managing and growing foundation partnerships
• Work closely with Acadia Center program and communication experts to construct grant proposals
• Updating Acadia Center’s Development Plan and execute strategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of new and existing foundations and major donors
• Strategically use donor database and create systems to improve contact with existing and prospective foundations and donors
• Help prepare the President or other staff and board members for foundation and donor meetings
• Develop Strategic Concepts for Foundation Reports and Materials
• Assist with annual development goal setting and track progress towards those goals
• Assist with events that have potential for fundraising or donor contacts
• Manage the fundraising schedule of the President
• Manage a foundation associate and interns as appropriate

Requirements

• Experience in philanthropy and fundraising
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage relationships with donors and foundations
• Experience in developing grant proposals
• Knowledge of donor database management
• Strategic thinking and planning skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with various teams
• Experience in managing staff and interns
• Strong organizational skills
