Overview

This role involves managing financial reporting activities for Absa Group and Absa Bank, ensuring compliance with IFRS and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

• Review financial results and ensure accuracy.
• Engage in financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to improvement projects within the department.
• Assist in preparing reports for the GACC and Board.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Manage queries from auditors and financial analysts.
• Perform analysis to ensure consistency across reports.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards.
• Facilitate communication with key stakeholders.
• Drive efficiencies and automation in reporting processes.

Requirements

• Chartered Accountant CA(SA) preferred.
• Minimum B Com Accounting degree required.
• Experience with IFRS reporting.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Exposure to Hyperion Essbase beneficial.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills.
• Time management and negotiation skills.
• Banking industry experience is advantageous.
• Ability to adapt and respond to changes.
