Medical or Scientific Director, Rheumatology - Remote

Overview

The Medical or Scientific Director, Rheumatology provides medical and scientific strategic and operational input into core medical affairs activities including but not limited to: health-care professional and provider interactions; generation of clinical and scientific data (enhancing therapeutic benefit and value); internal and external educational initiatives (medical education, scientific communications, training, and value proposition) and safeguarding patient safety (risk minimization activities and safety surveillance activities).

In Short

• Works closely with commercial teams to provide strategic medical input into core brand strategies.
• Develops and maintains professional relationships with key opinion leaders.
• Leads and coordinates internal scientific and medical activities.
• Provides scientific/medical education to various stakeholders.
• Initiates medical affairs activities and data generation.
• Leads external Medical Affairs activities such as advisory boards and medical education programs.
• Assists in the development of marketing materials and clinical research activities.
• Ensures compliance with budgets, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Participates in the design and reporting of scientific content related to clinical studies.
• Responsible for understanding regulatory requirements for clinical studies.

Requirements

• Medical Doctorate (M.D.) or PhD in relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical trial or medical affairs experience.
• Knowledge of clinical trial methodology and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to run a clinical study independently.
• Proven leadership skills in a cross-functional environment.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
• Experience in Rheumatology is preferred.
