Overview

Azure Cloud Engineers are responsible for the maintenance of secure and highly available cloud computing environments. This position will ensure the ongoing reliability, security, and performance of the Azure cloud infrastructure. This would entail monitoring the operating environments, responding to incidents and service requests, and participating in projects to continually improve our technology. Azure cloud engineers also partner with Information Security to ensure proper audit and security controls are enforced in all levels and processes of the cloud computing platform.

In Short

  • Expertise in deploying and managing Azure Infrastructure services such as Compute, Storage, Networking, and Databases.
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting using Azure tools, with a strong understanding of DevOps practices.
  • Collaborate on engineering initiatives related to the deployment, management, and maintenance of Azure cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, and associated features.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in various Azure service offerings.
  • Ensure operational stability by proactively managing services and responding to incidents and service requests within established OLAs/SLAs.
  • Optimize and maintain a cost-effective and high-performance cloud environment.
  • Contribute to organizational growth by achieving shared project goals.
  • Utilize automation technologies to streamline daily operations of the Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Analyze and enhance monitoring thresholds for Azure services to proactively identify and resolve cloud infrastructure issues.
  • Deploy cloud infrastructure capabilities in line with application needs and growth projections.
  • Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, environments, and cloud services.
  • Participate in a rotating 24x7 on-call support schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, equivalent relevant work experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Engineer specializing in Microsoft Azure, with deep knowledge of automation methodologies and tools.
  • Strong understanding of the Microsoft Azure technology stack and related concepts, including Azure compute, Virtual Networks (vNets), Azure AD/Entra, Blob Storage, and other core Azure services.
  • Proficient in scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Ansible, and Terraform for infrastructure automation and management.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with cloud-based disaster recovery concepts and implementation to ensure system resilience.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Flexibility to work rotating or irregular shifts (including weekends and holidays) based on business or operational requirements.
  • Occasional travel required to support business initiatives, both in-state and out-of-state.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and customers.
  • We are proud to offer a flexible hybrid work model which will require certain on-site workdays (Puerto Rico location only).
  • This position requires availability to work in a specified time zone or working schedule, accommodating the business needs of our clients and team members.
  • This position may require availability for on-call hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to promptly address emergent issues or provide necessary support as dictated by operational demands (if applicable).

Benefits

  • Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications, such as Azure Administrator Associate, are highly desirable.
  • Experience with marketplace services such as AKS, Kong API gateway, and Redis are a plus.
  • Familiarity and experience with Agile/SCRUM delivery methodologies.
