• We are looking for an experienced Staff-level Backend Engineer with strong Python coding expertise.
• You’ll be working as part of a skilled, collaborative team.
• You will evolve our instant-quote product and the technology platform behind it.
• You will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and releasing software.
• Reading, writing, and reviewing code in HTML, Typescript/Javascript/React, Python, and Rust.
• Close collaboration with other engineers and product managers.
• Operational responsibility for the services owned by your team.
• Work in an environment that supports your individual growth.
• This is a 1-year contract.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in a fast-paced technical environment as a software developer.
• Strong English speaking and writing skills.
• Demonstrable understanding of software engineering fundamentals.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, DOM web programming.
• Experience in at least two of Python, Rust, and React.
• Experience with build and testing technologies using Git/Github actions, GitLab.
• Experience with software engineering principles related to security, scalability, asynchronous programming, and transactions.
• Knowledge of principles of service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Attention to detail, good work ethic, and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
