Senior Backend Engineer (PHP) / DevOps - Remote

In Short

• Develop and maintain web applications / APIs (REST, GraphQL) using PHP, Laravel, and PhpUnit.
• Create technical concepts and PoC for project estimations and maintain documentation.
• Maintain Docker-based hosting environments in the Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Build and orchestrate automated CI/CD pipelines with Gitlab, Terraform, and Docker.
• Analyze current technology and develop processes for improvement.
• Provide technical guidance and educate team members.
• Ensure software quality through peer code reviews.
• Design and automate infrastructure for development teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in commercial projects.
• Degree in an IT-related field or similar education.
• Strong knowledge of PHP, object-oriented programming, and databases.
• Experience with bash scripts and Python is a plus.
• Good experience with Docker and cloud infrastructures like AWS.
• Expertise with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems.
• Experience with automation tools for testing and infrastructure provisioning.
• Familiarity with agile processes like Scrum or Kanban.
• Strong English skills are essential; good German skills are a plus.
