Overview

The Spanish Interpreter at Mass General Brigham is responsible for assisting Limited English Proficiency patients by interpreting essential medical information, ensuring clear communication between patients and healthcare providers.

In Short

• Provide interpretation services for Limited English Proficiency patients.
• Assist with consent forms, diagnoses, and discharge plans.
• Independently resolve issues and answer questions regarding protocols.
• Comply with BWH policies and procedures.
• Act as a resource for both patients and providers.
• Work on a per diem basis with rotating shifts.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
• Prior experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and interpreting skills is necessary.
• Must have a degree or significant education in a relevant field.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a human relations field preferred.
• At least 2 years of college education and healthcare experience.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
• Training in medical terminology and interpreting skills.
• Understanding of culture-specific care practices.
