Overview

The Phlebotomist Lab Assistant is responsible for collecting and processing blood specimens from patients for laboratory testing, ensuring patient care and safety.

In Short

• Draw blood for tests, transfusions, donations, or research.
• Explain procedures to patients and assist during recovery from adverse reactions.
• Dispose of contaminated sharps and biohazard materials according to regulations.
• Enter patient and specimen information into the computer.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• No experience required.
• Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License preferred.
• Knowledge of blood collection techniques.

• Proficiency in communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
• Physical ability to perform job functions.
